An Ode To Candice Bergen

Back in the day, I adored "Murphy Brown," the sitcom that starred Candice Bergen as an investigative journalist and newscaster at "FYI," returning to work at the show after a stay at the Betty Ford Clinic. Murphy was like Mary Tyler Moore with more attitude, a tough, wise-cracker who always got herself into hijinx—not to mention kicked out of the White House every year. Through "Murphy Brown"'s 10-year run, I came to love Candice. So I was happy to hear that she has a new role on TV—playing Cuddy's mother on "House." Here's hoping that the role will be meaty and could net Candice her sixth Emmy. [EW]

After the jump, some of our favorite Candice Bergen moments.
